Yey, this is the first time I've ever won two years in a row. Thank you Ms. Lei! While Eva didn't pick up as fast as I anticipated, actually the story is still kind of dragging. But, I have enough to work with for when I go back and start the second draft, I have some sense of where Eva comes from.
This has been a rocky Nanowrimo for me. I've been putting Eva off for years due to fear of massively fucking this story up. And you know what, I did anyway, and I'm totally okay with that. Of course Eva wouldn't live up to my expectations in the first write. Nothing I've ever written has turned out how I envisioned it the first time around. One only has to look at Bloody Kisses to see how drastic what comes on paper compared to the original idea can be.
My winning counts is 50,070. Yes, I limped across the finished line, but I still have three days. Once you hit the fifty thousand, the next ten is always the hardest. I have no idea how much more I'll write. I'm absolutely nowhere in Eva's story, kind of like the Tainted Butterfly situation three years ago. Has it really been that long since Mia was born?
I had a modest victory, and spent too much time playing iNFAMOUS 2. I really have to stop playing video games during Nanowrimo, they slow me down. Still, I'm happy, I won Nanowrimo 2011 and Eva Lei now exists.
Today was a good day.
